I compare the traditional system development with agile by give the example of Structure analaysis which is traditional method has been using to now a day.Structure analysis represent the SDLC (system design life cycle) that is more focus in stage by stage such as planning, design , analyse .But for agile methodology ,It make the difference by focus on result in short period that result come up and it would be better in changing environment then structure analysis. So this is the reason why choosing both method above to comparison.
week 10
October 6, 2006Week 12, assignment 3
October 6, 20061 What are the skills and knowledge that a good systems analyst requires? Basically, System analysis should
Understand clearly about all business process including process tasking of company or organization which going to analyst.
Skill of analysis the relationship of entity that are considering.
There are knowledge about software and hardware which currently use in market and in the future because system analyses have to consider about scalability.
There is knowledge of system development methodology.
There are skill of team working because system analyses have to work with many groups of people not only in the analysis team but also customer and supplier.
Planning skill project by using Grant chart from Microsoft project.
2 How has your answer to question 1 this week changed from your post in response to this same question when it was asked in Week 2? There are 3 differences from week 2 answer which are
Analysis skill of relationship between entities: It is necessary for system analyst to create ERD and table for database.
Knowledge of system development mythology: System analyst have to select the methodology which suitable to their system.
Team working skill: System analyst have to work with many people such as supplier, vender, and customer so all of them have to work as team to development the system.
3 How well did your actual study for the course this term match the study schedule outlined in the Gantt chart you prepared in week 3? Mostly exactly on time as schedule in Grant chart.
4 If you were in charge of this course next term, what changes would you make to improve the course? Why?
Time is the problem, 2 hrs in lecture class is not enough. It should be modified to 2.5-3 hrs. Because some chapters are need more time and more details for student to make clearly understand especially some people who not have IT background. Including case study is in last of chapter which should be taken the example from real company or organization because it is difficult to imagine the concept from concept in the text book only.

September 10, 2006Annotated Bibliography
Truex,D,Baskeville,R&Klein h (1999).Growing System inemergent organizations. communication of the ACM,Aug.,vol.42,177-123The author, show the overview of traditional information system development metrology since created from 1970. in the past to now saw the emergence in agile method of software development. Most agile methods attempt to minimize risk by developing software in short timeboxes, called iterations, which typically last one to four weeks. Each iteration is like a miniature software project of its own, and includes all of the tasks necessary to release the mini-increment of new functionality: planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation. While an iteration may not add enough functionality to warrant releasing the product, an agile software project intends to be capable of releasing new software at the end of every iteration. At the end of each iteration, the team reevaluates project priorities.Agile methods emphasize realtime communication, preferably face-to-face, over written documents. Most agile teams are located in a bullpen and include all the people necessary to finish software. At a minimum, this includes programmers and their “customers” (customers are the people who define the product; they may be product managers, business analysts, or actual customers). The bullpen may also include testers, interaction designers, technical writers, and managers.Agile methods also emphasize working software as the primary measure of progress. Combined with the preference for face-to-face communication, agile methods produce very little written documentation relative to other methods. This has resulted in criticism of agile methods as being undisciplined.
blog week 7
September 1, 2006- What were the most important concepts you learnt this week?
The mostly important concept for this week is how to drawn ERD (entity relationship diagram) and also database system.
- Why do you think those concepts are important?
It is useful to understand both logic and relationship between each entity in system.
- What concepts from this week are causing you the greatest problems?
Drawing ERD , especially in cardinality number but if I more often drawing ERD, I will more understanding to put correct cardinality number.
- How might the problems you are having be solved?

Week 3,4

week 2
July 20, 2006Week 2
1) What are the skills and knowledge that a good systems analyst requires? Answer : Knowledge that system analyst should have are 1. Basic and advance knowledge of Information technology (IT) both software and hardware.2. Special software or certificate of well-know system that organize or company currently use or going to implement such as Zap , Oracle , Cisco certificate , Microsoft etc.3. Analysis skill , analyst technique , problem solving .4. Understand the structure and overall system of client or enterprise5. Management skill , how to organize , how to negotiate.6. Vision or look forward in beyond.
2) How do you plan to develop those skills? Answer : At beginning 1. Studying or learning in Information technology.2. Learning more in System certificate such as Microsoft , Cisco network.3.
Reading in famous journal and update information around the world.4. Always following information in internet and searching the new information of new product.5.
Reading or study more in management field including studying in short course or work shop about problem solving skill.
3) It would be helpful for the teaching staff if you could give a brief outline of your experience with the development or use of Information Systems.
Answer : I have much experiences in manufacturing process of IT network products such as Cisco network , HP , Dell . So I would like to share the experience that we use the intelligent information system in production line.Previous , In manufacturing line we have to identify products by tie the label or tag paper which operator every assembly station have to write down name and time after finish assembled in each station . The reason that we do is to identify and know the status of products in production such who assembled this product , and what is the next assemble station , but many time we found that we put wrong data or fake data including we loss tag paper between production and it is difficult to find out what it is.We solve this problem by using the information system that we call “ODC” online data collection to collect the data and give up tag or paper that we use in past. The ODC is the software to collect data from production line and keep them in big server. Operator use barcode scanner to scan serial number of product before and after assembled. All data are kept in server that we can access to get data back for checkingMost benefit- We can record all products in production.- We can search the product just input the serial number to program and then it will show up the status since started production until current status of boards.- Customer can access to see all status of product.- Protection mixing or wrong part in production.- If product go to wrong station , The system will alert and not allow to go to.
